From Stage to Mat?!

The first time I did a yoga class, I swore I would never go back. It was really my ego talking. You see, I’m a very athletic person, but yoga was completely outside my comfort zone. I had zero confidence in my body. And I didn’t go back…for almost a decade.

Eventually, I was teaching cycling at a studio and they would do sessions of half cycling, half yoga. So I had to try it out again. It was short, just 30 minute classes or so and I started to get more confident as I worked on the set sequences.

Those 30 minutes soon turned into hour-long sessions and I found myself bonding with the instructors. I decided to take teacher-training classes to really understand what I was doing.

And that was a GAME CHANGER.

I knew from that moment on it was a crime for me not to share these teachings with everyone. The mental, physical and heart benefits were outstanding.

But, I was scared.

I was an actress in LA before coming to Austin, so I was used to being on stage and playing a character. It wasn’t scary though, because if people judged me, they weren’t judging ME, right? It was only the character.

Now, if I wanted to teach this amazing art, I’d have to play myself. And it was very intimidating. But I started slow, got great feedback and evolved. In fact, at one point I was teaching 15 classes a week. I am an artist at heart; this was just a different kind of performance.

You have creativity wanting to come out from your soul, as well. What is pulling you? What are your biggest desires? Maybe it’s something you aren’t even aware of yet or something you thought you didn’t like it all (like me with yoga).

I see you. You are not alone.

Let’s work together to find that passion inside and finally let it free.
